Introducing the Micro Jitterbug, a smaller version of my Jitterbug Kinetic Art Mechanism. Fitting easily at the tip of your finger at only 15mm across, this exquisite kinetic toy is inspired by the brilliance of Buckminster Fuller's Jitterbug mechanism. The Micro Jitterbug is crafted from the same aerospace precision in CNC Machining Grade 5 Titanium and 360 Series Brass. It pairs well with its bigger brother too, and even fits inside it!
This work features eight small grade 5 titanium panels connected by twelve even smaller 360 brass links and twenty-four 18-8 stainless steel pins, allowing for a single degree of freedom that expands and contracts smoothly.
